This morning a graduate student from the Institute of ZTE University came to ask me a lot of questions. He was a nomad here. At present, Buddhist societies have been established in Taiwan's universities. Most of the students with good roots are interested in studying Buddhism. Some of them not only seek knowledge, but also follow Buddhist Dharma. So every winter and summer vacation, there are all kinds of activities, such as Buddhist lectures, fasting societies, Buddha Seven, etc. Among them, not only college students, but also teachers, even children, can be said to be from higher intellectuals, even children.
Although children do not understand Buddhist doctrine, but he can practice according to Buddhist law, after all, they get great benefits? Or do those university professors and doctorates who study Buddhism benefit greatly? Below I compare this question separately.
1. It is indispensable for spiritual practice to break through practice and advance into the two principles of happiness and wisdom.
Everywhere in the summer and winter holidays, Buddhist lectures study the principles of Buddhism, which is "Buddhism". Children are accompanied by their parents to play Buddha 7 and Guanyin 7 in monasteries and read "Amitabha Buddha" and "Guanyin Bodhisattva", which is "learning Buddha".
Both Buddhism and Buddhism are needed. Should we lay equal stress on both eyes and feet and work together in a two-pronged manner? Or as long as it's alone? If we study Buddhism, we don't need to study Buddhism anymore, or we don't need to study Buddhism anymore. This is not in line with the Middle Way.
In the normal sense, we should have understanding and practice. You don't understand. How do you know how to do it? So we need to understand first and then do it. But people have different roots. Some people only study Buddhism. If they ask him to practice Buddhism, worship Buddha and meditate, he will not be able to do so. Why not? His good roots are lacking.
The study of Buddhism alone, though rooted in wisdom, does not work; although wisdom, but in fact can not get real benefits, that wisdom is withered wisdom. It seems that a man has knowledge, astronomy, geography and personnel, he knows, but his life is lonely and poor; or even though he has a family, his children and wife will suffer along with him. Why? He is not blessed, so life is hard.
Conversely, some people are blessed, well-off, happy and comfortable, but they have no wisdom. If a man is blessed and wise, he can't be clear about his affairs. It can be seen from this that it is not good to be blessed or wise alone, but to be wise and wise is to be able to understand things, so we should cultivate good fortune and wisdom. If we want to be blessed and wise, we must study Buddhism and practice Buddhism according to Buddhist Dharma, which can be called "two stringent laws of happiness and wisdom". They should be parallel, even and equal, not large or small. It's as big as the two wheels of a car. If it's big or small, how can it drive? Barely open only turn, can't go straight ahead ah!
Without the truth of Buddhism, it is like a blind man without eyes. Although he has two legs and can't move, he will fall into a ditch when he walks without guidance. On the other hand, how can we get home even though we have a pair of good eyes and no legs? So we must move forward with both eyes and feet, so that we can see clearly and safely the future.
2. If we only study Buddhism, we should not read it honestly.
Blessed and wise, they are even, of course, very good, but there are many things in the world that are not so ideal. If the two can not go hand in hand, like some professors and college students, who only study Buddhism, they can't even accept the most basic three or five commandments, they can't read a Buddha's name, or even have personality problems, they are not as good as pupils, grandparents and foolish women who can be taught to read Buddha honestly; although they don't understand any reason, they can only read "nothing in the south". "Amitabha Buddha" is better than Professor and Doctor.
If these doctors and professors can know Buddhism and practice according to Buddhism and study one point of Buddhism, they can do one point. This is the two circles of happiness and wisdom. That's certainly a good thing.
3. Buddha's Blessing and Wisdom Bipedal Respect
Why does the Buddha have the name of "bipedal respect"? What are the merits of this? You must understand. Tell everyone! The Buddha has two kinds of fullness, which is why it is called "Fuhui Bipedal Respect" and "Foot" who is also perfect. Every Buddha must be in the Bodhisattva's land, and cultivate the blessings and wisdom perfectly. If he is not perfect, he cannot become a Buddha.

Where will this blessing and wisdom be repaired? Still in the interest of all living beings, the Buddha could not cultivate good fortune and wisdom without sacrificing all living beings. Thousands of fools have no wisdom, so they open their wisdom and preach truth to him. This is the reason for wisdom cultivation. If there is no happiness in the misery of infinite beings, they will give alms to relieve his suffering and make him happy. This is the reason for happiness cultivation. What is Buddha worth being respected by the world? His happiness and wisdom are two kinds of perfection; his happiness and wisdom are not for his own enjoyment, but for all living beings, so they are respected by all the world.
Why does the Buddha want to cultivate happiness and wisdom? It means "great compassion" and "kindness" - giving pleasure to all living beings and pulling out suffering from all living beings. So how can we extricate ourselves from suffering and enjoy ourselves? It is to be blessed and wise that we can help all.
4. Foolish persistence can hardly reach the other shore
How to turn a fool into a fool without wisdom? The Buddhist doctrine of foolishness is not the kind of foolishness that the secular people say: they can't eat, dress, or even eat shit; that's madman, upside down. The foolishness of Buddhism is that the reason of cause and effect is not clear; the person who knows nothing but one and knows nothing but two knows nothing and knows nothing about reason. This kind of person can't eat, in fact, he can eat, enjoy and argue skillfully, but it's not the truth that he argues, he argues unreasonably - argues forcefully, or gets a point, and wipes out everything, which is called foolishness.
The fool persists everywhere, the persistent small is bitter, the persistent big is bitter; the persistent evil is bitter, persistent good.
